Part of the Journey is the end..

So, my batch got its farewell, to a journey that we began 14 years ago together. A day where everyone clicks a picture with everyone while promising to stay in touch. Everyone was excited, to get dressed, win titles, and enjoy the show. But the reality that everyone hid was that no one wanted this day to come. Not this soon.

Firstly, I want to thank with my full heart to every single person who was involved in making this day what it was. Thankyou so much 11thies, your performances had the perfect balance of making us laugh and tear us up. Cheering on the Critic’s Award, getting lost in the beautiful dance performance, to shed some tears during the poem, we couldn’t have asked for a better farewell.

And, the biggest surprise performance, which filled all our hearts with love, was the performance by our teachers. I don’t know if I have the correct words to use for it, but I have to say on the behalf of all the students, that we’ve been incredibly lucky to have such teachers in our Ahlcon family. It’s hard to ever pay back everything that they have done for our betterment throughout the past 14 years.

14 years, 14 pics and 14 points. Our journey, here at Ahlcon, was beautifully summed up by Principal Sir, filled with the wisdom he has been showering on us since 2005. His speeches in assembly have always been a driving force, and knowing it was the last time I sat here in the school auditorium, listening him speak, kind of breaks my heart.

14 years in the same building is a long time. And, during this time, you get attached to the corridors, the walls, and just everything about it. But, it’s also the people you spent this time with that make it special. So, the latter half of the day was mostly about spending some time with them, dance and get some pictures clicked. And, there are always some pictures that mean more to you than others. So, here are just a few of the lots that we clicked:

Here’s to 14+1 years of friendship.
Proudly says that my best friend is Ms. Ahlcon
Thankyou for giving me a friend during the first ever bus ride.
And, thankyou for giving me a friend in later bus rides.
Thankyou for shaping my Primary School!
And thankyou for making my senior school.
A caption won’t be enough here. All I’ll say is, I know that I’ll miss you the most.
Best Smile knows how to make me smile better…
Glad to finally have a picture with you, and I’ll miss going to the exam center.
The perfect squad, which understands my craziness and anxiety.
And, here’s to a class which tolerates me without complaining.

These 6 hours, were those hours that we won’t ever be able to get out of our heads. These 6 hours marked the end of our entire childhood and adolescence. These 6 hours meant that we’ve now been prepared to enter the open world of adulthood and face all kinds of challenges life throws – on our own.

It was difficult to sleep after that. The thoughts of everything we have ahead of us, and everything that we are leaving behind. The dreams too were bittersweet. Out of a sudden, the time feels to run even faster. The day was not only about saying goodbye, or making new memories before we part ways, but also to forget the bad past and walk away on good terms.

Every new beginning, comes from some other beginning’s end.

Closing Time; Semisonic

We have a very long life ahead of us, including college and working days. But, I believe that no one you meet now will ever be able to know you as well as the friends you make in your childhood do. That’s because they know you, since when you didn’t know what side of yourself you want to show. They know you, because they’ve seen your downfalls. They know you, because they belong to the same group. They have the same roots. They’ve been hurt by the same stone.

So, guys, a small request to certain people. And, you probably know if you are in those certain. Stay in touch. That’s all I’m asking. Stay in touch. If we go a certain length of time without catching up, and you happen to think of me at an odd hour, don’t ever think twice before bothering me, despite how long we’ve gone without talking. Do whatever you have to, but don’t let a time come when we don’t know what’s happening in each other’s lives. We all will probably be in different cities, or even countries in a few months. If we happen to be at the same city at any time, then make sure we meet. Don’t ever bring in any kind of formalities, and never let the time come when we have to search for reasons to talk. Never.

That’s all I had to say. Again, thankyou 11thies for today. And, thankyou school for everything. I’m proud to be an Ahlconite, and will always tell people with immense pride, that I did my schooling from Ahlcon International.
