The Half of It – A Different Kind of Love Story

Have you ever loved someone so much that you don’t want anything about her to change?

How do I write something about a movie which made me want to note down the dialogues, or the combination of words it used? I’m certain I’ll be seeing them on Instagram pages soon enough.

Easy going, straightforward Rom-Com which doesn’t have a lot of characters, isn’t very happening, yet keeps you glued to the screen till the last scene. The simplicity of this film and the characters makes it so good and unusual. It stays happy, throughout, and still successfully evokes emotions. Just what I needed as a break during finals prep.

Love is messy. And horrible and selfish and bold. It’s not finding your perfect half. It’s the trying and reaching and failing.

If you want to have a relaxing night, if you enjoy movies which talk about love, if you want watch something easy-going yet impactful, check-out The Half of It on Netflix. Strong recommendation.

This film will go down as a classic.

P.S. Bonus points for taking little inspiration from Bollywood, and being verbal about it.

Love is being willing to ruin your good painting for the chance at a great one.
