Sabse Achha, Sabse Pyaara, School Humaara Hai!

And, just like that, we’re expected to say goodbye,
To never look back, and move forward with our lives,
To take with us the lessons we learnt,
& leave behind the student status, to be an Alumni.
The things we wished to avoid are being missed today,
Wanting to attend the morning assembly is the thought of the day.
Rushing home excitedly as the bell rang was a constant for so long,
But, on the last day, that excitement and chaos was hard to be found.
We scribbled inside jokes and promises on other’s uniforms,
Wished that we would keep meeting, as we let go of the balloons,
But, the feeling had not sank in, that we’ll soon be searching for reasons to meet,
Seeing others everyday, would no longer be a norm.
Then there are faces, which would never be seen again,
14 years weren’t enough to be more than an acquaintance.
Even those would be missed, as there wouldn’t ever be the same crowd,
Among these hundred faces, the nursery seeds germinated into sprouts.
And, now we’re being carefully transplanted to a new nursery,
With our roots intact, and a soil to help us grow even faster.
Not saying that the school wasn’t fast,
With the blink of an eye, 14 years went past.
Left us with an infinite amount of memories to cherish,
& reasons to think about them, whenever our hearts feel heavy,
Because, here at Ahlcon, we’re Born to Fly.

Today is special for me, thus this poem. 2nd April, 2019, I sat for my last Class XIIth Board Examination. Today was the last day that I wear this uniform, a piece of cloth I have developed deep emotional bond to. It marks the end of my school days, and the beginning into the next phase of life. This change in life comes in everyone’s life, and Ahlcon made it more special for me by giving me so much throughout my time here.

I hope, that in future, I’m able to make my school proud by my deeds!
