I wish

Some days, I forget.
I forget what had happened between us,
and how what you did is still something I can’t forgive.
But, those some days, when I forget that,
I wish, you would still tag me in memes,
and reply with a face-palm, every time I try to crack a joke.
I wish, I could still flood your DM, when I have an awesome day,
and, make you speak, whenever you would hold something back.
I wish, I could spend time with you after school once more,
and, when you miss your cab, walk you till your door.
I wish, I could keep pushing you to read my favourite books,
and, have the guts to finish yours, without thinking of you.
I wish, we could still make plans, just to cancel them later,
and, let our thousands of promises, see the light of the day.

I wish, you hadn’t given up on me,
and, we still were the best of friends.
I wish, I could still tell you that you’re cute and I love you,
and, in return, believe your lie too.
I would keep wishing, but all wishes don’t come true.
A pact once broken, trust once lost, tears once shed,
They can’t be undone.
I wished, our friendship never ended,
But, now, pain is all that is left.
